Frequently asked questions
Does it work offline?
Entirely. The app has no networking code at all, so everything works in aeroplane mode exactly as it does anywhere else.
What happens if I lose my iPhone?
Nothing is uploaded anywhere, which is the point — and the cost. The encryption key is tied to that device, so losing the phone means losing what is inside. Open Settings → Export the book, choose a password, and keep the resulting file wherever suits you. That is the only way back.
What is a private sticker?
A sticker you mark private stays blurred even inside the app. Tap Face ID to reveal and it opens for thirty seconds, then hides itself again. It also hides instantly if you leave the app or take a screenshot.
My private stickers stopped opening after I added a new face or fingerprint.
That is iOS working as intended. The key for private stickers is bound to the biometrics enrolled at the time, and changing them destroys it — a change in who can unlock the phone is treated as a possible compromise. Those stickers can only be restored from an export you made earlier. Everything else in the book is unaffected.
How do I give a sticker to someone else?
Open the sticker and choose Swap with someone. The app encrypts it and shows a QR code plus a short code. The other person opens + → Receive a hand-over, scans the QR and types the code you tell them out loud. Nothing goes through a server.
Tell them the code some other way than the screen it appears on — a photo of that screen would otherwise contain both halves.
Can the app stop screenshots?
No, and no iOS app can — the system does not allow it. What the app does instead: it notices a screenshot, warns you, and immediately hides any private sticker that was visible.
Why does it warn me about my passport so early?
Because "expires" and "time to renew" are different dates. Many countries require six months of validity remaining when you enter, and renewal itself takes weeks. Mark a document with its renewal type when you add an expiry date, and the book will tell you in time. It is a rule of thumb, not legal advice — always check the requirements for where you are going.
What is the Emergency page for?
Things a stranger or a paramedic should be able to find: an emergency contact, a medical card, insurance, an embassy number. It opens straight from the lock screen without Face ID, deliberately — so put there only what you are willing to show. Private stickers cannot be moved into it.
Which iPhones does it run on?
Any iPhone running iOS 15.0 or later.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app. That removes its container along with every sticker, attachment and encryption key. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone, so export first if you want to keep anything.
Do you see any of my data?
No. There is no account, no server and no analytics — there is no channel through which your data could reach us. The privacy policy describes exactly what is stored and where.
